This 1-day workshop is aimed at CFD engineers with little or no experience in the use of post-processing software. General pre-requisites for this course are that the trainees are assumed to have working knowledge of CFD and modelling processes. Familiarity of Linux as a working environment is beneficial.

This 1-day workshop is divided in 2 sessions:

• morning session: CEI Ensight (proprietary)
• afternoon session: Kitware ParaView (open source)

Objectives of the training are:

• Harness the power of parallel post-processing
• Enable python scripting through the python programmable filter as well as the batch python interface
• Explanation of the compilation process using cmake
• Activating very useful plugins for CFD post-processing such as LIC
• Demonstration not only of 3D data post-processing, but also 2D plotting facilities
• An introduction on the filtering philosophy which will save a lot of time to beginners.

To ensure the professional quality of the workshop, the tutors are experienced ICON developers and application engineers.
